A wonderful ‘thank you’ card

Having delivered over 400 goodie bags to NHS workers, Toby was really touched to receive this lovely ‘thank you’ card from one of the nurses on the ITU ward at St. Richards Hospital.

The card reads as follows…….

Dear Toby

I just wanted to say a bit thank you for all the kind donations you have organised for us all at St Richards ITU.

It was a bit like Christmas when I opened my goodie bag (although I struggled to fit all the amazing bits in my rucksack when cycling home that night)!

Something I love about working in ITU is the relationships we often make with the patient’s family and friends. However Covid-19 has sadly made this much harder. But not with Donna.

I was truly touched to see a hand sanitiser with my name on it and a personal note of thanks (even if my name is spelt with an ‘ie’ not a ‘y’ – we have no other Katie’s so I didn’t have to worry I’d stolen anyone else’s – phew)!! The fact you have remembered so many of us by name is amazing – thank you.

Please let the boys who made the hand made cards know I’ve put mine up on my wall so I see them every morning.

Thank you for everything Toby that you are doing to make so many peoples jobs more bearable at this challenging time.

Best Wishes to all your family and friends

Katie S – Staff Nurse SRH ITU
